Products

Breads

Why do your breads have a short shelf-life?

Our breads are baked fresh daily and do not contain any artificial ingredients or preservatives hence they only have a short life of 3 days at ambient temperature. However, you can extend the life of your breads by storing them in the freezer for up to 8 months!

What is the best way to store your breads?

We recommend storing them in the freezer in zip lock bag as they can last for up to 8 months without compromising on taste and quality. For unsliced breads, we recommend slicing them first before freezing. Simply pop them straight in the oven or toaster straight from the freezer to enjoy!

I don't have an oven or toaster at home, how do I reheat the frozen bread?

You can use an air fryer and use the same settings as you would for any frozen product. You can also use a pan on the stove to toast them. For this, simply leave the desired number of slices in the fridge overnight to thaw before heating.

Are your breads vegan?

Yes, they are vegan - they do not contain any egg, animal products, or dairy products. The only exception is our Low Carb Nut & Seed Bread, which contains eggs.

Are your breads yeast free?

No, all of our breads contain yeast.

Are your breads nut free?

All of our breads are nut free, with the exception of our Low Carb Nut & Seed Bread.

I'm new to a gluten free diet, what would you recommend to start off with?

We recommend trying out our Country Classic loaf first as it's the closest to regular white bread! This loaf is also great for kids.

Why is your serving size for your breads heavier than commercial breads?

Due to the type of ingredients and flours we use (all natural and gluten free!), our loaves are naturally denser than commercial loaves. They are much more nutritious and satisfying too!

Cakes and Muffins

Are your cakes dairy free?

All our muffins and most of our cakes are dairy free. We use olive oil or coconut oil instead of butter.

Are your cakes vegan?

No, all our cakes and muffins contain egg, with the exception of our Vegan Blueberry Crumble and Vegan Chocolate Pecan.

How long do your cakes last?

Our cakes and muffins can last up to 10 days in the fridge. They also freeze well if you would like to keep them for longer.

Can I order a whole cake for a birthday?

Yes, you may place an order for a whole cake online. Please note there are longer lead times on whole cakes, so please order in advance of your celebration. Should you like a message written on your cake, please indicate in the notes.

Other

Do you have any other vegan products?

Yes, for bakes we have Vegan Waffles and Vegan Blueberry Crumble Muffins. For snacks, all our Nut Mixes and Energy Pearls are vegan. For breakfast items, our Pecan Coconut Granola, Cashew Cacao Granola, and all our Superfood Mueslis are vegan.

Can you do a vegan birthday cake?

Unfortunately, all our cake bases contain egg at the moment. It's definitely in our R&D and our kitchen team is working hard to develop a gluten free and vegan cake that will taste great and is good for you! We can offer you our vegan brownies which also come in mini size - they are great to have as part of a sweet snack platter for parties.

Nutrition

What types of sugars do you use?

We only use natural, unrefined sugars either from coconut sugar, honey, maple syrup, and fresh or dried fruit.

Are your products suitable for diabetics?

Our products are designed to have lower sugar and more healthy fats and proteins than other baked goods. We have had some feedback from our customers who have Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes that our products do not spike their blood sugar levels. However, we acknowledge that everyone manages diabetes differently, so we have the nutrition information readily available on our website for you to make an informed decision.

Some of your products are quite high in calories? Is this healthy?

Our view on health and nutrition is based on the quality and type of ingredients used. Not all calories are equal, and with using only wholefoods without any artificial ingredients to add flavour, naturally the amount of calories will add up accordingly. Our products are both energy dense and nutrient dense, and they help support a well-balanced diet, give you sustainable energy throughout your day and will keep you feeling satisfied.

Do you do bulk orders and catering?

Yes, we do. Please email contact@thewholekitchen.com.sg to enquire.
